Haynesfield Families,

As we kick off the school year, here's a quick reminder of one of our school expectations. Students should not bring outside food or drinks to school, which includes Morning Leaps. We also do not allow soda or energy drinks during the school day.

This policy helps us provide a safe, healthy, and equitable learning environment for every student. By limiting outside food and drinks, we can better support students with food allergies, minimize distractions, encourage healthy choices, and maintain consistent expectations across our school.

Thank you for helping us keep our focus on learning and for supporting our school expectations. We appreciate all you do for Haynesfield!

Beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, Bristol Tennessee City Schools elementary schools will implement a five-minute schedule adjustment. The tardy bell will ring at 8:15 a.m. (previously 8:10 a.m.), and dismissal will be at 3:15 p.m. (previously 3:10 p.m.). Instructional time will remain unchanged. Middle and high school schedules will remain unchanged at 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

This adjustment is designed to improve transportation efficiency, support more consistent bus arrival and dismissal times, and provide students on longer bus routes with additional time to eat breakfast before the school day begins. Elementary school doors will open for student arrival at 7:55 a.m. Morning LEAP will be available at each elementary school. Please reach out to your child's school for LEAP details.

We appreciate your partnership as we make this adjustment to better support our students and families.

Back-to-school season is almost here! This is a great opportunity from the Sullivan County Regional Health Department to make sure your child's required immunizations are up to date before school begins.

The BTCS Book Bus is back for Summer 2026! 📚🚌☀️

Join us throughout June and July at locations across Bristol for free books and summer reading fun! Children can choose books to keep and build their own home libraries.

🏃‍♀️ Let’s play, BTCS! 🏃‍♂️

Join us THIS EVENING—Friday, May 1, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at the Tennessee Middle School track for an event full of movement, excitement, and community connection.

✨ What to expect:
• Family Fun Walk (begins at 5:30 p.m.)
• Track and field events, including runs, relays, standing broad jump, and more
• Vendor village with prizes and giveaways
• Free food samples
• Free books from the BTCS Book Bus
• Meet Tennessee High athletes

📍 Rain plan: Event will move indoors to the TMS cafeteria and gym.
👨‍👩‍👧 Parents/guardians must remain on-site with their child.

Flyer for the 2026 Power of Play Youth Sports Day hosted by Bristol Tennessee City Schools in partnership with Bristol Tennessee Parks & Recreation and sponsored by Ballad Health. The event will be held Friday, May 1, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Tennessee Middle School track, with indoor activities at TMS in case of rain. This free event is open to BTCS students in pre-K through fifth grade. Activities begin at 5:30 p.m. with a family fun walk, registration, and vendor village, followed by track and field events. Activities include 50–100 meter runs, standing broad jump, wiffle ball throw, and relays. Additional features include vendor booths, free books from the BTCS Book Bus, meeting Tennessee High athletes, door prizes and grand prizes, and food samples. Participants can register online at www.btcs.org/powerofplay or on-site on May 1. A QR code is included for registration. Students who register by April 20 will receive a free T-shirt. Parents or guardians must remain on-site during the event.

Friday, May 1st is this year's Walk-a-thon. Students will be participating in the walk during their special area time(1st and 5th grades will switch times). Thursday, April 30th is the last day to turn in $$ for the fundraiser.

It promotes school-wide fundraising goals: every lap earns a jelly bracelet; $2,000 earns whirly keychains for every student; $4,000 earns a movie party with popcorn and candy; and $6,000 earns a DJ glow party.
