Haynesfield Students handle a snake at Camp Explore

Recently, Haynesfield 5th graders went on a field trip to Camp Explore. This camp is a part of the Clyde Austin 4-H Center located in Greene County. Camp Explore teaches the students many aspects of the science curriculum. On this trip, the students had a class on physics and witnessed how energy worked to send a ping pong ball flying across the room at 300 mph. They visited the wildlife classroom and were able to hold one of the many snakes, pass around animal pelts and dinosaur teeth, and view many other fossils in the room. Then the students practiced their teamwork and communication skills by canoeing around the pond. The students returned to school tired but full of smiles and lots of stories!
